Dear Parents

We have had an amazing term with new dancers and teachers. Next term we are all looking forward to exams, yeah. I would like to thank all the parents and students for all your hard work this term with your preparation. Keep it up!

Exams are on Sunday the 24th of June and the practice exam will be Sunday the 17th of June (afternoon). Exam payments have to be paid by the 27th of April. The exam fees are paid to the NZAMD (dance association). Here are the costs:

Medal test bronze: $30

Ballet grade 1: $45                      Hip hop 1: $39

Jazz grade 1: $45                         Hip hop 2: $49

Jazz grade 3: $50                         Hip hop 3: $50

Jazz grade 4: $55

During the exams children will wear their dance uniforms.

Extra holiday practice:

We are holding extra practicing for some exam classes on Friday 20th of April.

12.00-              Jazz 1

1.00-                Hip Hop 2

2.00-               Jazz 3

3.30 – 5.30-  Jazz 4

Reminder: we will be dancing on ANZAC day as exams are near.

On Saturday the 21st of April we are giving the dancers in the company a chance to attend New Zealand hip hop champs. This is held in Auckland from around 7-10.30pm. We are hoping to take the church van. Tickets cost $20.00 each. Let us know if you are keen.

Lastly the first Monday back at dancing we are lucky to have 2 of the hip hop champs judges coming to run a workshop for all dancers at intermediate and older. The workshop will run from 7-9pm and cost $10-15.

We are starting on the 13^th of Feburary and have classes running on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. We have had a little price increase but I am sure we are still one of the cheapest on the north shore.

We are continuing to grow our dance family and support each other through what every life throws at us. We are having a focus on technique and providing each dancer with opportunities to perform in different ways and places.

So make sure you are registered for 2012.

Finally we just under 2weeks away from our dance show 2011.This year its all about a journey of dance through time.We bringing you styles starting from the 1920′s such a the charleston,that crazy footwork dance style.The can can ,vogue, hip hop and much more.The kids have been working really hard and putting in extra practice,even on public holidays and school holidays.So these 105 kids have been looking forward to the biggest dance moment of the year.The costumes are coming together and the kids are looking pretty fly

We are bringing you two show so dont miss out and the kids get a chance to perform twice. The first four weeks of dancing have been amazing. Every class has grown and it is great to see some many new faces enjoying dance. We now have made in to our dream number of 100 students in our dance school, and each week this number grows which is a blessing.

We have an amazing core of dancers who are really dedicated to practice, push themselves and who always turn up to classes with a smile.We have started working towards NZAMD exams, which are national dance exams and slowly seeing everyone in dance tops and jazz shoes.

We are thankful to our new teachers Chris, Danni and Kahlia who are great teachers and have fitted in very easily into Eternity Performing Arts. Of course as we grow we are learning what works and doesn’t work.

There have been a couple of extra highlights from the first four weeks, for example creating a website, being advertised on www.1-day.co.nz and trialing our first dance workshop.

We are looking forward to the next 6 weeks of this term and can wait to see the rest of our dreams come true.
